Hnefatafl: Ancient Icelandic game of chess

‘Hnefatafl’ is pronounced as ‘Neff-a-ta-fel’. The game simulates an enemy raid. All pawns (including the king) move like the ‘rook’ in chess. The attackers are situated along the four sides, each side representing a ship, while the king and the defenders are located in the middle of the board. A great game of strategy, easy to learn and play.
